Live Action Films

On, October 8, 2009, it was announced that two live-action Gantz films are in production. The movies will star Kazunari Ninomiya and Ken’ichi Matsuyama ( yes that guy who acted as L in death note you bloody fan girls ) and will be directed by Shinsuke Sato. The movies will be released in the spring and winter of 2011.

you must be wondering What the hell is Gantz.
and why im getting so hyped up about that piece of news that might sound ordinary and boring to you. but wait dudes and dudenesses.
ILL TELL YOU BITCHES WHAT GANTZ IS!!!
GANTZ IS A HARDCORE MANGA/ANIME!
maybe not as powerpack hardcore as ONE PIECE
but Gantz is still 1 of my favourites.
Its very disturbing, hardcore, violent, sick and very very different from other stories.
Really, im not kidding. its REALLY good.
heres the summary plot that i took off wiki (thanks wikipedia!).

i know its long but its really interesting! Read it!!

PLOT

A pair of high school students, Kei Kurono and Masaru Kato, are run over by a subway train in an attempt to save the life of a homeless drunk who had fallen onto the tracks. Following their deaths, Kurono and Kato find themselves transported to the interior of an unfurnished Tokyo apartment. The pair soon realize others are present and find that they are not able to leave the apartment. At one end of the room there is a featureless black sphere known as “Gantz”.

After some time in the room, the Gantz sphere opens up, revealing a bald naked man with a breathing mask and wires attached to his head, and three racks protruding from it, that offer various items for them to use. These include the custom fitting black suits Gantz makes for each of them, giving them supernatural abilities, a controller which act as a radar and stealth unit, and three types of guns.

When the Gantz sphere opens, green text appears on its surface ” Your lives have ended, what you do with your new lives are entirely up to me.” .A picture and brief information is shown of some of the Gantz Targets, Gantz ordering them to go and kill them. All but one target shown thus far, have been aliens living on Earth, which take on a wide variety of forms. After a period of time which varies between missions, everyone except Gantz are transported to the location of the mission.

Those sent cannot return from the mission until all enemies have been killed, or the time limit has run out. If they survive a successful mission, each individual is awarded points for the aliens they have killed. They are then allowed to leave, and live their lives as they see fit until Gantz summons them back again for the next mission. The only way to stop having to participate in the missions is to earn one hundred points, and choose the option to be freed. Several participants, including Kato, are killed through the third mission they are given, leaving Kurono as the only survivor and the new leader from the “Gantz Team”. However, as the series continues, Kurono participates with the objective to revive his deceased friends with the 100 points he can obtain throughtout the missions. After several missions, Gantz’s sphere indicates that the human race will be over in a week for an unknown reason, but it also frees all the participants from the game.

When i first read the anime and the black ball appeared and displayed that frickin line “Your lives have ended, what you do with your new lives are entirely up to me”
i was like FRICK YEA THIS IS AWESOME SHIT!!!!
and seriously it was awesome shit.
its currently at chapter 304. and its going to stop for 3 months.
most probably because they are working on the movie or something.
but seriously guys if youre bored and wants to read something interesting.
Go for GANTZ.
its extremely hardcore and violent and sick
but still its really good and it keeps you reading and wanting to know more and more about the black ball and the whole shit on whats happening.
and the one thing i REALLY like about GANTZ is that the characters are really really human.
you know its not like other stories where characters are always portrayed so righteous or so brave or so kind and have hearts of gold.
in GANTZ, its really human.
which i think its true. The human heart isnt as pure as it looks
every single one of us hides thoughts. really evil thoughts that we dont say or ignore. and its really true. every single one of us.
its like you see a woman falling into a train track.
First thought that comes to your mind would be “FRICK SOMEBODY SAVE HER! OH SHIT HOW MAN” or “SHIT I MUST GO SAVE HER” and you panic.
but deep down in your heart. in one small little compartment.. every single one of us would have the thought of “i wonder if shes gonna die.”
or “im not gonna save her, ill be endangering myself, let some1 else do it.” or even “i wonder how her dead body would look like if she gets hit”
You know.disturbing evil selfish thoughts like this. human thoughts like this WE ALL HAVE THAT inside our heart sometimes. we just dont show it and we dont acknowledge it because it isnt right. but still its there. its always there for human beings.
AND GANTZ shows that.
thats why i find GANTZ interesting. it shows the true nature of human beings when it comes to situations or stuffs.
so guys! read GANTZ if you can. its good
Cant wait for the movie! although its in 2 years time.
